Heather Bass is the co-owner of J. Watkins Drugs alongside her husband, Nicholas, and the proud mother of two children. Growing up in Poplarville, Mississippi, she was a nervous child—an internal struggle that intensified after losing three family members at age eleven. Although new experiences often made her physically ill, impactful high school teachers helped settle her internal fight, and a career-day visit from a local pharmacist inspired her future path. Heather earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi in 2003, graduating at the top of her class. Her early anxieties ultimately gifted her with profound empathy, guiding her through years as a dedicated clinical hospital pharmacist.
After relocating to Mobile, Alabama, a toxic work environment caused her mental health to decline significantly. However, a divine intervention at a 2019 pharmacy conference led to a job offer and the eventual purchase of her own business. Named after her son, J. Watkins Drugs is the culmination of her dreams—a sanctuary of compassion and care. Guided by biblical principles, Heather commits her plans to the Lord, proving to her children that true success is defined by how we serve others.
